My aim in the final project is to create a platform where artworks relating to Chinese culture can be exhibited, advertised, and sold. I intend to increase awareness about Chinese culture as a result of this event and, furthermore, to prepare a solid ground for my career.

Renowned history scholar in England, Dr Toynbee, argued that exquisite fineries of the rich Chinese heritage would improve life in the 21st century. Although relatively few people knew anything about Chinese society two decades ago, it is possible to see Chinese cultural commodities around the globe today. Numerous aspects of culture in China have been introduced worldwide, such as uniforms, Mandarin, Chinese art, and film.

At the same time, many Chinese designers trained in Western countries are gaining in popularity. Huishan Zhang, an artist currently operating in London, is quickly becoming famous as a result of his innovative combination of typical Chinese tropes and ornaments with modern shapes.

In this project. I intend to analyse what kind of impact will occur when combining the characteristics of the Western and Eastern elements. I plan on interviewing designers and students from both sides of the world in order to see each individuals perspectives of their work. This will allow me to highlight what elements are identical to one another since these will be the key essentials if both works were to merge together.
